Diagnostic Tests
As part of your comprehensive care, laboratory testing may be ordered through Quest Diagnostics, and EKGs may be completed through local clinics when clinically indicated.
GeneSight or Tempus Genetic Test as clinically indicated upon thorough psychiatric and psychotropic history evaluations. This is a pharmacogenomic test that analyzes clinically important genetic variations that may affect outcomes with certain medications that are commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia disorder, and other mental health conditions.
Results often give providers information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less likely to work for you, or may have an increased risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup.
Please note that the test does not provide a guarantee as to the efficacy of prescribed psychotropics; rather, it is a tool to help us understand how your bodyβs genetic makeup interacts with and metabolizes the medications. The test is useful because it can help us prescribe the right medication in appropriate dosages that may have fewer unwanted side effects.
